TERMS AND CONDITIONS – HOME AND PET SITTING

————————————-

1.    By using of software you
are agreeing to our Terms and Conditions.

2.    YOU MUST COMPLETE THE
‘MY INFORMATION’ SECTION IN FULL TO VALIDATE YOUR INSURANCE with us. If there
is a change in your PERMISSIONS AND STATEMENTS, you must inform the agency in
writing. Failure to complete any of these steps may invalidate an insurance claim.

3.
The client shall not, other than through Home Pet People, engage
any of the agency’s sitters to provide house and pet sitting services. In the
event of breach of this condition the client shall indemnify Home Pet People
against all loss and expense suffered by Home Pet People in consequence of the
breach. The agency will be entitled to a fee equal to ten times the
remuneration paid by the client to the agency.

4.
We can only contract our sitters to remain on your premises for 20
out of the 24 hours. Refer to banding and rates guidelines for full
costs. Most sitters will choose to be on your premises for longer than 20
hours, but we cannot contract them to do so unless you pay for extra time. The
sitters will not leave the premises for more than 4 hours per day.

5.    Clients must ensure they
have completed and returned the necessary paperwork to the sitters before the
commencement of the service.

6.
Some of our sitters are prepared to work during the Christmas and
New Year period. In this case the sitting fee is charged at double rate for
Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Easter, Spring and August Bank
Holidays carry a £10 supplement.

7.
CANCELLATION CHARGES

Loss
of the agency fee, unless the cancellation is made earlier than 14 days prior
to the commencement of the booking. In this case the agency fee will be held in
credit against future bookings, less 50% administration charge.

If
a booking is cancelled within 7 days of the start date, we recommend that you
pay your sitter 20% of the total sitting fee. While the agency leaves this up
to client discretion, recognition of their commitment is appreciated.

8.
Should a sitter be taken ill or for any reason is not able to
complete the assignment, the agency will use its best endeavours to make
alternative arrangements. On occasion, this may be at an additional mileage or
sitting fee. We will not charge additional agency fees. If this is not
possible, the agency does not accept responsibility for any losses
incurred.

9.    DOG WALKING AND HOME VISITS

Services
should be booked as far in advance as possible. Whilst we may be able to
accept last minute bookings, if less than 48 hours’ notice is given for the
cancellation of a dog walking or home visiting service a 50% charge will be
added to your account.

Should
you require a service over Christmas and Easter bank holidays the rate will be
double. All other bank holidays are one and a half times the normal
rate.

Clients
must ensure they have completed and returned the necessary paperwork to the
sitters before the commencement of the service.

10. TRAVEL COSTS

A nominal fee of £0.45 a mile is charged for sitters travel costs on the Meet and Greet and

for the sit. This cost is outlined by HMRC. We are happy to provide a full breakdown

beforehand. We will of course make every effort to match you with a sitter who is

geograpically convenient.  This may not always be the case for last minute cover, busy

times of year or where specific skills are needed.

11. INSURANCE POLICY

We make every effort to maintain high standards of integrity and reliability among
our sitters and to provide a suitable sitter in accordance with the booking.
However, we cannot accept liability to the client other than for loss or damage
to property or injury to a pet resulting from our negligence. Our liability to
the client for loss or damage to property shall not exceed £5 million and
injury to pets shall not exceed £25,000.00. Clients must also ensure that they
have completed and returned the necessary paperwork to their sitter in order to
validate insurance. Our policy can be supplied upon request.
