The first step is to tell us a bit more about you. You can give us as much or as little detail as you like at this stage. If you like the sound of the service, a pet sitter will come and meet with you in your home. This service is free of charge and something that very few agencies offer. We believe it’s important for you to build a relationship with the pet sitter. This will help you to feel relaxed and focused on your time away rather than worrying about your home and pets. We do ask that the sitter mileage costs are covered but will always match you with the closest available pet sitter. During the meeting, the sitter will complete a detailed questionnaire which ensures we know all of the vital information about your home and pets.
If you decide to book with us, you will be given access to a personalised portal. This is a great feature for our pet parents who enjoy the freedom of being able to manage their account and bookings on-line. You can log-in anytime, update your pet details or add notes about your care. It's also a convenient way to make future bookings.
So you are now a Home Pet People customer and it’s time for your first home and pet sitting service! The booking fee will have secured the sitter. They will arrive at your home as you have requested and remain at the property for a minimum of 20 hours out of 24 hours per day. The sitter will keep in touch with you regularly (unless stated otherwise) and care for your home and pets in the same way that you do. The sitter will either wait for your return or leave on the final day as you have requested. The balance of the payment is made to the sitter on completion of the booking. We have a ‘code of practice’ which includes a strict policy which all sitters adhere to during the stay. We can supply this on request.
It’s easy to get started and even easier for existing customers to re-book. Once you have met with a sitter, you can request them for future bookings. We often find that sitters and customers like to get to know each other and enjoy the security that the relationship brings.
